Vaginal Surgical Techniques

  • Diagnostic and surgical hysteroscopy: endoscopy of the uterine cavity for detection of pathological states, e.g. for menstrual disorders or involuntary childlessness
  • Curettage: scraping of the uterine cavity for persistent menstrual disorders or benign changes in the area of the uterine cavity
  • Conisation: cone biopsy of the cervix where there are malignant changes
  • Hysterectomy: excision of the uterus
  • Correction of prolapses by using:
    • Vaginal pelvic floor reconstruction
    • Tightening of the vagina and fixation of the vaginal cuff
    • ‘Lateral repair’ of prolapses
    • Laser removal of genital warts (condyloma acuminata)
    • Laser therapy for genital warts and pre-cancerous stages
  • Incontinence surgery
    • Colposuspension according to Burch
    • Transobturator tape placement
