Daily dressing changes are generally carried out by our nursing staff in the mornings after breakfast.

During the first change of dressing (on the 2nd postoperative day), the dressings applied in the operating theatre will be removed.

In most cases, dressing changes are then no longer necessary on a daily basis, but will be carried out after a few days.

Removal of wound sutures and wound staples is performed in accordance with a fixed schedule:

• On the 7th day following varicose vein surgery
• In two stages on the 7th and 9th days in the case of arterial operations on the groin and legs
• In two stages on the 5th and 7th days in the case of interventions on the carotid arteries
• On the 7th and 9th days in the case of interventions on the abdominal aorta
