The average life expectancy of our population is continuing to increase. This is associated with an increase in degenerative joint diseases, particularly of the hip and knee. Pain and restrictions of movement often considerably impair an individual’s quality of life.
Many people therefore have to decide whether to have an artificial joint.
Improvements in implantation techniques and prostheses have led to a high success rate for hip and knee replacements. In fact, more than 150,000 hip and more than 100,000 knee endoprostheses are currently implanted every year in Germany alone. Various treatment methods are available depending on the patient’s age and the extent of their joint damage.
Individual consultations can be requested during the endoprosthetic consultation period on Mondays between 8:00am and 3:00pm.
