Department organisation

The Clinic for Haematology (treatment of blood diseases) and Oncology (treatment of cancer) operates three wards with a total of 35 beds for treating patients with malignant organ tumours and diseases of the lymphatic system, in addition to benign and malignant blood diseases.

The wards are closely linked with the Hematological-Oncological Outpatient Department, in which patients are cared for by experienced specialists.

The clinic’s treatment spectrum covers the entire field of haematology and oncology with specific focus on the treatment of benign and malignant blood diseases including acute and chronic forms of leukaemia, malignant lymph node diseases (malignant lymphomas) and malignant tumours of the gastrointestinal tract, the lungs and breast, as well as soft tissue tumours, bone tumours and gynaecological and urological tumours. As part of the Euregio Breast Centre and the Prostatic Carcinoma Centre, the department maintains close interdisciplinary cooperation with the Clinic for Gynaecology and the Clinic for Urology. Our clinic offers all inpatient and outpatient tumour therapies apart from stem cell and bone marrow transplantation.

Patients have the opportunity of participating in a large number of German and international studies.

Our voluntary employees add to the caring nature of our Outpatient Department and wards.

The Friends Association Regionaler Onkologischer Schwerpunkt Eschweiler e.V. raises funds to help improve the patient environment.
