Your Specialists Female Counsellor in the Euregio Breast Centre

Women who are affected by breast cancer, individuals who want to know more about it and any relatives can obtain information from Birgit Meiser and Beate Sellinger, the Specialists Female Counsellor for women with breast diseases in the EBZ Coordination Office. They compile information tailored to your individual needs and can also arrange contact with a self-help group if required.

Ms Meiser and Ms Sellinger work in close cooperation with medical, nursing and social services staff and coordinates the necessary examinations and discussions on the patients' behalf.

In addition to their organisational duties, Ms Meiser and Ms Sellinger are also in charge of supporting patients in the EBZ several days a week both in the Gynaecological Outpatient Department and on the ward. They visit patients in the hospital rooms or arranges an appointment for a meeting in her office to deal with enquiries, clarify procedures, fill gaps in information and bridge interfaces. Their presence during admission interviews and/or discussions of findings with the physician (if desired) can be very helpful for many women at an emotional level. Ms Meiser and Ms Sellinger accompany patients throughout the entire course of their treatment and also act as the contact person for the women involved and their relatives after the inpatient stay.
